About the Role

LCRA is seeking a Transmission Substation Electrician to maintain critical infrastructure. The role involves performing electrical work in high voltage substations, including maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, adjusting, installation, and removal of transmission and distribution equipment. This position requires field experience and is suitable for individuals building higher-level knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

Observe and inspect equipment and structures to detect potential electrical issues.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and general upkeep of substation, control houses and transmission lines.
Read and interpret blueprints and drawings, consult manuals and parts lists.
Operate and transport equipment such as bucket trucks, boom trucks, forklifts, skid steers, UTV, and other various equipment.
May perform low-voltage and high-voltage switching according to standard procedures and in coordination with system operations.
Be able to perform after-hour and weekend callouts to investigate alarms and issues in substations and on transmission lines.

Requirements

One or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
Class A Texas commercial driver's license.
