About the Role
Abridge is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Life Sciences to serve as the first dedicated legal counsel for its newly established life sciences business. This senior role is integral to embedding legal and compliance frameworks into the product lifecycle, supporting innovation while ensuring adherence to healthcare, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with product, engineering, and strategy teams to guide product design, development, and deployment.
- Drive the creation of Abridge’s legal strategy for life sciences.
- Provide actionable guidance on regulatory and compliance matters, including HIPAA, CCPA/CPRA, FDA, FTC, and evolving AI/ML regulations.
- Support go-to-market activities through contract negotiation and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with external counsel.
- Monitor emerging regulations in healthcare technology.
Requirements
- 10+ years of legal experience.
- At least 2 years in a dedicated life sciences role.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical or biotech products.
- Proven ability to translate complex legal concepts for technical and commercial teams.
- Comfort with high-volume, fast-paced environments.
- Familiarity with trends in artificial intelligence.
