About the Role
Abridge is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Product (Data Products, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence) to serve as the primary legal advisor for teams building the company’s core AI and machine learning models and products. This role is central to Abridge’s mission of improving clinical documentation and patient care through advanced, auditable AI technology.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams to address legal issues at the forefront of AI model development, agentic workflows, and multimodal healthcare experiences.
- Identify and mitigate AI-specific legal risks.
- Develop scalable legal frameworks and contract language for frontier AI.
- Shape Abridge’s positions on emerging AI regulation.
- Support privacy impact assessments, model risk assessments, and data governance for AI training and deployment.
- Champion principles of transparency, accountability, and human oversight.
Requirements
- 12+ years of legal experience.
- 6+ years advising on AI, machine learning, or emerging technology products.
- Prior in-house experience required.
- Strong understanding of AI-specific legal issues, including IP, data rights, model liability, and responsible AI.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory and technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-legal audiences.
