About the Role

Abridge is seeking a Senior Product Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor for teams developing AI, machine learning, and data products at the forefront of healthcare technology. This highly cross-functional role partners closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams to address complex legal issues arising from the development and deployment of advanced AI models, including ambient clinical documentation and emerging multimodal healthcare experiences.

Responsibilities

Identify and mitigate AI-specific legal risks.
Design practical frameworks for responsible AI development.
Shape Abridge’s positions on evolving AI regulations.
Advise on model behavior, output accuracy, intellectual property, data provenance, and liability for AI-generated content.
Support privacy and data governance initiatives.
Develop scalable legal processes tailored to the pace of frontier AI innovation.
Represent Abridge’s interests with regulators and industry groups.

Requirements

At least 8 years of legal experience.
4+ years counseling on AI, machine learning, or emerging technology products.
Prior in-house experience.
Strong understanding of AI-specific legal issues.
Ability to translate complex regulatory concepts for technical audiences.
Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
