About the Role

Join the Investment and Evaluation Policy & Advisory team at NSW Treasury and help shape better investment decisions for the people of NSW. Responsibilities

  • Assisting and, where appropriate, leading in the assessment of proposals and evaluations.
  • Maintaining and updating policy standards.
  • Incorporating emerging evidence.
  • Managing stakeholders.
  • Liaising extensively with all other business units within Treasury, government agencies and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in economics, econometrics or statistics, public policy, law, research, evaluation or related fields and/or professional experience in providing policy advice, research, and/or economic or other analysis.
  • Ability to analyse data, models and apply critical reasoning across diverse policy issues to support economic and/or policy advice in consultation with senior staff.
  • Experience providing advice in government, economic policy, or regulation is desirable.
  • Knowledge of public economics, cost-benefit analysis and/or evaluation is desirable.
  • Curious, coachable and resilient.
  • Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
  • Must undergo background checks and provide confirmation of tertiary academic qualifications before commencement.
