About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred active support to people living with disability in shared housing or their own homes. This role involves assisting with personal care and daily living, and requires availability for a 24/7 roster.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients with mental health challenges, complex needs, and high behaviours
  • Assist with personal care tasks (e.g. bathing, dressing) and manual handling
  • Availability for short-notice shifts and sleepovers is essential
  • Implement person-centred active support
  • Ability to follow behaviour support plans
  • Log daily care and changes in needs to ensure informed, coordinated support

Requirements

  • An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
  • Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks, including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

  • Pay rates starting from $45.28 (casual) as per the SCHADS Award
