About the Role
Be the force behind the grid. As an LCRA Generation engineer, you’re on the front lines of reliability, keeping the lights on and the power flowing for all of Central Texas! LCRA’s main offices are in Austin, TX with generation plants spanning from the Texas hill country to Central Texas among beautiful lakes, hills, and trees. With this position you would have the opportunity to work with a diversity of generation technology which include combined cycle, reciprocating engines, aeroderivative, coal and gas Rankine cycle plants, and hydro plants. Responsibilities
- Develop engineering designs and conduct comprehensive field analysis, inspections, and performance testing.
- Create technical specifications, computations, and schematics for project materials, equipment and services.
- Coordinate and review work of engineering associates and seal final designs or instructs engineers on necessary revisions.
- Lead engineering projects, take ownership of evaluating and modifying standard technical methods, procedures, and criteria to meet project specifications.
- Manage detailed project schedules and drive technical execution and lead teams members to achieve objectives.
- Acquire critical engineering data through traveling to various power plant sites.
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
- Driver's license
Skills
- Power system modeling
- Relay settings and configuration (SEL/GE/Beckwith) for generators, breakers, motors, and transformer protection
