About the Role
CDM Smith is seeking a professional to contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of groundwater systems that provide reliable, sustainable water resources for communities and advanced technology facilities. This role involves working on critical water infrastructure projects in Texas, offering opportunities for career advancement and making a lasting impact.
Responsibilities
- Performs and signs off on basic to highly complex geophysical testing, geologic/seismic evaluations, fault rupture hazard and slope stability investigations/hydrogeologic analysis.
- Prepares and/or reviews and signs off on draft and final reports, evaluations, and calculations for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all assessments.
- Schedules and reviews the work of subcontractors during project.
- Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.
- Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
- Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
- Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices.
- Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
- May develop subcontracts for drilling, sampling, and geophysical testing, as necessary.
- Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services.
- Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.
- Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.
- May supervise the work of junior staff on project work.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- An appropriate and valid driver's license is required.
- Heavy equipment operation and proper licensing to operate heavy equipment is a requirement of the position.
- Requires background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, credit and motor vehicle when applicable.
- May require drug testing for designated positions.
- Criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate.
Skills
- Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
- Expert knowledge of scientific methods and processes.
- Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.

Salary/Compensations
- USD $91,478.00 - $160,118.00
