About the Role
This role is a senior part of our With Intelligence Private Markets editorial team, leading a group of reporters focused on uncovering the most important developments across private equity and private credit markets in the Americas. The Americas Editor manages a team of journalists covering fundraising, investment activity, performance, firm strategy and broader market developments across private markets. The team operates as part of a global editorial group spanning the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, delivering proprietary, forward-looking and actionable intelligence to fund managers, investors and service providers. Through exclusive reporting, market analysis and industry insight, the team helps subscribers identify opportunities, understand competitive dynamics and stay ahead of market developments. Alongside breaking news, the team produces trend analysis, thought leadership and longer-form reports that explore the themes shaping private markets globally. As the editorial lead for the Americas, you will play a key role in executing and shaping coverage priorities within a broader global content framework, ensuring our reporting delivers maximum value to subscribers and reflects the evolving dynamics of the market.
Responsibilities
- Lead private markets coverage across the Americas, ensuring alignment with With Intelligence's global content strategy while reflecting regional market developments and subscriber needs.
- Execute a defined content plan agreed with the Editor-in-Chief and senior editorial leadership, helping refine coverage priorities through market insight and audience feedback.
- Ensure reporting delivers proprietary, forward-looking and actionable intelligence across private equity and private credit markets.
- Identify emerging trends, firms, strategies and market developments that merit deeper coverage and analysis.
- Maintain the highest editorial standards across all published content.
- Lead, develop and mentor a team of reporters, fostering a culture of curiosity, collaboration, accountability and journalistic excellence.
- Establish and reinforce best practices for sourcing, reporting and content development.
- Provide editorial oversight, coaching and feedback while remaining an active contributor to coverage.
- Support the professional development of reporters and help strengthen the team's expertise across private markets.
- Build and maintain a strong network of private markets contacts across the Americas, generating exclusive insights and proprietary intelligence.
- Develop a deep understanding of private equity and private credit markets, including fundraising activity, performance trends, investment strategies and organisational developments.
- Act as a subject matter expert on private markets trends for colleagues across the global editorial team.
- Partner with Data and Insights teams to identify gaps in market coverage and contribute expertise that enhances the depth, accuracy and relevance of our private markets intelligence.
- Monitor competitor activity, subscriber needs and broader industry developments to ensure coverage remains differentiated and valuable.
- Represent With Intelligence at industry conferences, roundtables and client events across the Americas.
- Moderate panels, conduct interviews and contribute to reports, webinars, podcasts, videos and other thought-leadership initiatives.
- Work closely with Events, Data and Insights teams to maximise the impact and reach of our private markets intelligence.
- Serve as a leading voice on private markets developments for internal stakeholders, subscribers and industry participants.
- Help strengthen With Intelligence's reputation as a leading source of private markets intelligence.
Requirements
- Significant experience covering private markets, asset management or broader financial services in reporting and/or editing roles.
- Proven experience leading, developing and mentoring journalists, or a standout senior reporter ready to take the next step into editorial leadership.
- Deep understanding of private equity, private credit and alternative investment markets.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver proprietary journalism and develop strong networks of industry contacts.
- Strong editorial judgement and the ability to translate complex market developments into clear, compelling and actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of how high-quality intelligence supports subscriber value and business growth.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, drive improvements and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across global teams.
- Willingness to work from our New York office under a hybrid-working arrangement and attend private markets events across the region.
