About the Role

The Structured Finance and Alternative Investment Funds team at S&P Global Ratings evaluates the credit risk of securitized products and fund structures. The team delivers credit opinions that help issuers and investors compare complex instruments, providing market-relevant perspectives on performance trends and issuance conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Build credit judgment through coaching, feedback, and standard methodologies.
  • Contribute to AI-enabled team productivity by sharing reusable prompts, templates, checklists, and automation.
  • Support the onboarding and development of junior colleagues through guidance on analytical routines, quality standards, and tool usage.
  • Contribute to workflow improvement initiatives and support innovation by challenging existing processes.
  • Own delivery for assigned credits, maintaining clear status updates, strong prioritization, and early escalation of risks.
  • Maintain ongoing surveillance for assigned credits, synthesizing developments into insights.
  • Build and maintain analytical materials using standard templates, applying automation.
  • Use approved generative AI and large language model tools to support research, comparison, and drafting tasks.
  • Collect, reconcile, and validate data, identifying anomalies and gaps early.
  • Support rating committees by preparing well-evidenced materials and responding to follow-up questions.
  • Translate data, analysis, and research into clear, decision-ready narratives for clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Apply confidentiality, documentation, and governance requirements consistently.
  • Support the testing of automation and AI tools identified through process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Direct experience analyzing securitized products, fund structures, or related structured finance instruments.
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to manage priorities and communicate clearly in a team-oriented environment.
  • Learning agility and a continuous improvement mindset, with comfort adopting new tools while maintaining quality and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to support junior colleagues through guidance, quality checks, and knowledge sharing, including responsible AI practices.
  • Strong research and data analysis skills, including financial statement competence and a solid understanding of credit and risk concepts.
  • Practical experience using generative AI or large language model tools to support analysis, research, or drafting in a professional context.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and a willingness to develop proficiency in data and automation tools.
  • Experience supporting financial modeling preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research and analysis in a clear, structured format.
  • High standards for accuracy, traceability, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to responsible technology use, following approved boundaries to protect confidentiality and analytical integrity.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
  • Candidates who reach the final stage of the interview process will be asked to attend at least one in-person interview at their nearest S&P Global Ratings office before an offer can be extended.

  • CAD $62,000 to $101,000
