About the Role

The Project Manager (PM) manages software implementation projects within the utility industry, overseeing projects from proposal to completion. The PM ensures appropriate resource allocation, timely and on-budget client deliverables, and maintains high customer service standards through clear communication and reporting. This role requires full ownership and proactive management to ensure project success and avoid surprises for the Project Management Office (PMO).

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to the TRC Software Implementation Delivery Methodology.
  • Lead and manage project implementation teams for software and services delivery.
  • Foster a positive project work environment and lead teams to achieve objectives on time and budget.
  • Identify, assemble, and manage internal and external project resources.
  • Develop workflow plans for projects from request through client delivery.
  • Plan, execute, and manage team activities and indirect resources to produce deliverables per requirements.
  • Deliver projects using Waterfall & Hybrid methodologies.
  • Ensure project budgeted costs and profits are met or improved.
  • Strategize and implement methodologies to increase project margins.
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive change order management.
  • Establish and maintain project cash flows.
  • Facilitate efficient project billing according to company accounting practices.
  • Implement earned value tracking and reporting.
  • Manage project schedules, including development and upkeep.
  • Ensure appropriate time, resources, and schedule milestones are included in planning and execution.
  • Manage project administration, including proper capture and filing of all project documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and TRC management through reporting and meetings.
  • Lead the development of delivery SOWs and provide support for RFP responses.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews of the project with the PMO.
  • Prioritize project safety through leadership and adherence to policies.
  • Support and adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience in the utility domain.
  • Previous experience leading and managing large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Consulting & Technology Projects in an electric or gas utility environment.
  • Fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational, decision making, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of addressing C-Level executives and multiple technical teams.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent team building and motivational skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial skills.
  • Proficiency with MS-Project and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong judgment, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or on an as-needed basis to client locations.
  • Previous experience implementing large SCADA, EMS or ADMS programs, preferably on the technology vendor side.
  • PMP Certification.

Salary/Compensations

  • In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
  • Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
