About the Role
The S&P Global Ratings' EMEA Commercial team drives commercial priorities across various finance sectors. This client-first, outcome-oriented team collaborates to deepen client relationships and win new business, offering market perspective to clients and advisors in specialized finance. The role provides direct exposure to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development activity with CLO asset managers and advisory banks in European CLO issuance to grow revenue.
- Own and develop senior-level relationships with CLO clients and ratings advisors, translating market developments into commercial opportunities.
- Manage complex commercial contract negotiations, identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and deliver referrals to other S&P Global divisions.
- Build and maintain internal relationships with Ratings leaders across Commercial, Analytical, and Compliance functions.
- Deliver analysis of market developments and client intelligence to improve commercial operations and contribute to new product development.
- Apply data, market intelligence, and AI-enabled tools to enhance decision-making, productivity, and client outcomes within regulatory frameworks.
Requirements
- 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in rating agency, bank, limited partner, general partner, or asset manager roles, including structured finance, CLOs, leveraged finance, private credit, private equity, or debt capital markets.
- Demonstrated track record of business development and/or senior relationship management in a leveraged finance, CLO, private credit, or structured finance environment.
- Solid understanding of debt capital markets and corporate finance.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder influence skills.
- Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly across functions, seniority levels, and external audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to use data, market intelligence, and AI-enabled tools to improve client insight, commercial execution, and team productivity.
- Sound compliance mindset and ethical judgment.
- Ability to operate confidently within regulatory frameworks and corporate governance standards.
- Knowledge of private credit markets with direct experience engaging private credit clients or advisors is preferred.
- Experience influencing senior external stakeholders and representing an organization publicly as a subject matter expert is preferred.
- Broad knowledge of S&P Global Ratings products and insight-selling skills are preferred.
- Proven ability to build and sustain long-term senior client relationships, identify client needs, and execute solution strategies is preferred.
- All candidates reaching the final stage must attend at least one in-person interview.
- Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
