About the Role
The Emerging Technology & Innovation Specialist identifies future technology opportunities, validates them with customers and partners, and translates those insights into roadmap recommendations and investment decisions that shape the future of Telstra Enterprise. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution, working with senior leaders to turn emerging technologies into tangible customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Explore emerging technologies and identify opportunities that create value for our Enterprise customers.
- Translate customer insights, market trends and technology signals into practical roadmap recommendations.
- Support innovation initiatives through demonstrations, proof of concepts, showcases, discovery activities and technology trials.
- Work closely with Product, Sales, Strategy, Technology and external partners to evaluate future opportunities.
- Prepare decision-ready recommendations, business cases and roadmap inputs for leadership.
- Coordinate innovation forums, portfolio governance activities and stakeholder engagement across the business.
- Capture learnings from pilots and innovation activities to help shape future product strategy and commercial opportunities.
- Help maintain visibility of emerging technology priorities and ensure leaders have clear, evidence-based information to support decision making.
Requirements
- A genuine interest in emerging technologies, particularly AI, Agentic AI, Network as a Product (NaaP), network APIs, mobility, collaboration and secure networking.
- Experience working across innovation, product, strategy, technology or transformation environments.
- Strong commercial thinking with the ability to connect customer problems to future opportunities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across multiple teams.
- Experience translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity.
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to work across Product, Sales, Technology, Strategy and partner ecosystems.
