About the Role
2B Living is establishing its first dedicated talent acquisition function, and you will be responsible for its end-to-end ownership. This role is crucial for scaling the company towards tens of thousands of units by hiring the right talent. This is a build role focused on filling foundational and critical positions with exceptional candidates, driving the firm's durable and enduring success.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a hiring machine that consistently places the right people in the right roles.
- Develop proactive pipelines for evergreen roles including property managers, property accountants, leasing professionals, maintenance technicians, and regional staff.

- Write clear, accurate, and compliant job postings specific to property management, including California pay scale disclosure requirements.
- Conduct structured intake meetings with hiring managers to define role requirements, trade-offs, compensation, and timelines.
- Perform preliminary assessments to screen for role fit, values alignment, and compensation alignment, and administer DISC assessments.
- Manage the interview process in collaboration with hiring managers, including scheduling, interviewer preparation, debrief facilitation, and driving timely decisions.
- Extend and negotiate offers, close candidates, and coordinate with People Operations for documentation, background checks, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date ATS records to ensure all candidates receive responses.
- Leverage industry networks to source talent and generate referrals.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with trade schools, certification programs, community colleges, and university career centers.
- Develop internship and entry-level pathways to attract and grow early-career talent.
- Represent 2B Living at industry events, career fairs, and community organizations.
- Manage and maintain the company's presence on LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed, including responding to reviews.
- Own and grow the employee referral program.
- Increase inbound interest in 2B Living to attract direct candidate applications.
- Coordinate with People Operations to ensure a seamless transition from offer acceptance to the new hire's first day.
- Execute against the approved hiring plan and provide market-based feedback on costs, timelines, and competitiveness.
- Meet regularly with department heads and regional leaders to anticipate upcoming hiring needs.
- Own and report on recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, pipeline coverage, source-of-hire mix, offer acceptance rate, cost-per-hire, and new-hire retention.
- Identify and address staffing risks, such as attrition trends, hard-to-fill roles, compensation misalignment, and acquisition-driven demand.
- Own and manage the ATS, including hygiene, workflow design, reporting, and user adoption.
- Develop and implement a structured interview process with scorecards, question banks, and interviewer training.
- Manage and report on recruiting spend across various channels, including job boards, tools, events, and agency usage.
Requirements
- 5+ years in talent acquisition or recruiting within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
