About the Role

The Evening Coordinator supports the daily operations, planning, and scheduling of the Cornerstone Evening & Weekend Program. This role is essential in fostering a community center environment that is inclusive, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of children, youth, and families. The Coordinator ensures a continuum of services and youth development opportunities by overseeing program delivery, supervising staff and interns, and contributing to the overall development and growth of the program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and day-to-day management of evenings, Saturday, and Sunday programs.
  • Supervise all evening and weekend group leaders, activity specialists, part-time program aids, and interns.
  • Coordinate, recruit, and outreach of all High school and Adult Cornerstone participants.
  • Provide on-site crisis intervention when the program is in operation.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the program within the building, including responding to specific maintenance and security concerns.
  • Monitor and inventory the use of equipment and supplies to ensure the equipment is repaired when necessary and that adequate supplies are maintained.
  • Attend agency-wide training and meetings.
  • Assist in the facilitation of program activities and special events.
  • Assist in the facilitation of ongoing staff meetings and trainings.
  • Attend community Tenant board meetings.
  • Facilitate and manage Youth Council and advisory board meetings.
  • Available to supervise weekend programming.
  • Participate in the hiring of staff members in consultation with the Program Director.
  • Assist in the oversight of ongoing work with DYCD, DOH, and NYCHA.
  • Assist in the coordination and collection & summary of statistical information.
  • Perform other programmatic duties as assigned.
  • Create monthly and weekly schedules for evening and weekend participants.
  • Create and implement adult activities.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED and at least 1-2 years of experience in youth program supervision and administration.
  • Must have at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Must be able to engage in behavior management activities and demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities.
  • Must be available for weekend training requirements.
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.

Skills

  • Strong administrative & supervisory skills in a youth development program.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
