About the Role

Responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and participating in rehabilitative programs that help build or restore vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills, as well as general independence, to persons with disabilities or developmental delays. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring and care, and effective communication. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. Provides clinical supervision of assistants and aides, and serves as clinical instructor for assigned students.

  • Building or restoring vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills.
  • Fostering general independence for persons with disabilities or developmental delays.
  • Gaining patient, family/support group, and healthcare provider confidence and cooperation through competent assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
  • Adhering to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
  • Providing clinical supervision of assistants and aides.
  • Serving as clinical instructor for assigned students.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Possess OT-Occupational Therapist or OLP-Occupational Limited Permit.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 2 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Ability to work in a demanding work environment.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities and complete work duties within expected timelines and requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer and required technology.
  • Ability to retain and apply new knowledge and skills.
  • Keeps abreast of professional practice development and advancement.
