About the Role
KPMG's Department of Professional Practice (DPP) is seeking a high-performing candidate to support the annual inspection cycle and enhance audit quality. This role involves working closely with regulators, engagement teams, and leadership to ensure high-quality audits for public and private organizations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key resource for the external inspection cycle, including the Request for Information (RFI) process.
- Act as a primary contact with external regulators, senior leaders, and partners within the firm.
- Support engagement teams with courageous and empathetic conversations, active listening of external requests, and oversight of coordination.
- Review engagement team deliverables, provide feedback, and ensure appropriate responses to external requests.
- Guide engagement teams through the remediation process for timely and sufficient resolution.
- Support audit quality by developing and implementing improvement opportunities and sharing observations.
- Participate in DPP and Audit Quality projects and initiatives.
- Commit approximately 200 hours per year to work on engagements in your region during your rotation.
Requirements
- Canadian CPA designation or international equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in a large professional services firm.
- Exceptional knowledge of KAEG-I and KPMG Clara Workflow.
- Knowledge of KAEG-P preferred.
- Experience as an audit manager/senior manager on Reporting Issuer engagements.
- PCAOB experience preferred.
- Prior internal and/or external inspection experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to generate high-quality deliverables.
- Experience and proven ability to manage team members and projects successfully.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Confidence and resilience in dealing with senior partners and challenging situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and professional maturity.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and build professional relationships.
- Awareness of the sensitivity of information received and appropriate handling.
- Proficiency in English at a business level.

- BC Region: $86,000 to $150,000
