About the Role
Seeking an experienced Medical Assistant / Dermatology Surgical Assistant for a physician-owned dermatology practice. This role involves assisting with in-office surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care. Training is available for candidates with strong medical assisting experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for in-office dermatologic surgical procedures
- Assist the physician during surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile field
- Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies
- Sterilize instruments and maintain surgical equipment
- Assist with wound care, dressings, and patient education
- Document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Process and prepare pathology specimens
- Maintain infection control and OSHA standards
- Help ensure an outstanding patient experience
Requirements
- Experience as a Medical Assistant required
- Knowledge of sterile technique is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
