About the Role
TAR builds fully islanded solar and storage campuses that power AI data centers. As Government Relations Lead (Federal), you will own TAR's federal agenda and the political relationships crucial for project economics. You will be responsible for ensuring TAR's model is considered in future AI infrastructure and energy legislation, establishing TAR's presence on Capitol Hill.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute TAR's federal strategy, including advocacy priorities and legislative agenda.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with members of Congress, their staff, and relevant administration officials.
- Monitor and influence legislation impacting energy tax credits, AI infrastructure, permitting, trade, tariffs, and data center policy.
- Manage external resources, including contract lobbyists and trade association memberships.
- Enhance TAR's political visibility through site visits, congressional testimony, and briefings.
- Represent TAR in high-level discussions on AI infrastructure and energy policy.
- Ensure compliance with lobbying regulations and political activity policies.
- Collaborate with state and local government affairs, development, and communications teams.
Requirements
- Significant experience in Congress, an administration, campaigns, or a federal affairs role with established relationships.
- Experience with energy, tax, tech, or infrastructure issues, with the ability to discuss technical details or identify relevant experts.
- Proven track record of influencing legislation or regulations.
- Experience managing lobbyists and trade associations effectively.
- Ability to organize site visits, prepare executives for testimony, and develop compelling talking points.
- Comfort operating autonomously as a sole representative in Washington, D.C., with full accountability for results.
