About the Role
This role focuses on domestic and international corporate clients, offering exposure to complex business structures, cross-border transactions, and strategic commercial issues. Professionals will develop strong technical, analytical, and client management skills within a large firm environment that provides specialist expertise, structured career development, and ongoing training.
Responsibilities
- Preparation/review of accounting and tax advice on a broad range of matters
- Preparation/review of company income tax returns, including International Dealings Schedule
- Preparation/review of tax provisions, estimates and tax effect accounting worksheets
- Preparation/review of special purpose and general purpose financial reports
- Maintenance/review of fixed asset registers for accounting and tax purposes
- Preparation/review of Activity Statements and fringe benefits tax returns
- Preparation/review of annual state-based payroll tax returns and workers compensation insurance policy declarations/renewals
- Bookkeeping, data processing and management reporting
- Other services including Taxable Payments Annual Reports (TPAR) and Non-Resident Withholding Tax Returns (NRWHT)
- Preparation/review of workpapers in line with BDO standards and processes
- Various internal practice management requirements
Requirements
- Accounting and/or tax background, including applicable tertiary studies
- 5 + years accounting and/or tax experience
- Understanding of tax, accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
Skills
- Xero accounting system knowledge (preferable but not required)
