About the Role

Albany Technical College seeks a motivated individual to coordinate high school/secondary education initiatives. This role assists in planning career programs and dual enrollment opportunities for high school students, leading to credentials, certificates, diplomas, or associate degrees. The coordinator provides admissions information, manages recruitment and enrollment activities, and serves as a liaison with educational, industrial, and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist state, secondary, and postsecondary instructional leadership in planning and developing career programs of study.
  • Provide dual enrollment opportunities to high school students leading to credentials, certificates, diplomas, or associate degrees.
  • Provide Dual Enrollment Program admissions information to high school, home school, and private school students and their parents.
  • Coordinate recruitment and enrollment activities for future students and the community.
  • Assist with information dissemination, parent/student/community outreach, recruitment, advisement, admissions, and course registration.
  • Monitor the academic progress of Dual Enrolled students and communicate information to secondary education officials.
  • Assist in the coordination and/or administration of the Accuplacer college entrance exam.
  • Collect and analyze Dual Enrolled student participant data.
  • Assist in attaining textbooks for dual-enrolled students, including coordinating book orders and ensuring student account accuracy.
  • Serve as the liaison with educational, industrial, and community partners to encourage cooperation and partnerships for dual enrollment.
  • Foster seamless education opportunities for students in Baker, Calhoun, Clay, Dougherty, Lee, Randolph, and Terrell counties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of work-related experience.
  • Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of the college’s admission and financial aid guidelines and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how high school and college calendars, registration, graduation requirements, and schedules work together.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Good oral and writing communication skills.
  • Proof of Selective Service Registration for males aged 18-26.
