About the Role

We are looking for a Solution Engineer to handle Secure Power projects in Japan. This role involves providing technical support for Datacenter Products to clients, vendors, and partners during the sales and project execution stages. The Solution Engineer will actively participate in customer projects to offer suitable Schneider solutions and provide technical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical sales assistance to Account Managers, including site visits, requirement gathering, and system specification adjustments or proposals, primarily focusing on UPS and Cooling products for Datacenters.
  • Identify customer requirements and translate them into solutions, offering technical support including proposal creation and detailed design throughout project stages.
  • Deliver presentations on Schneider products, solutions, and concepts to prospective clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Act as a technical expert in sales or internal business-related activities.
  • Participate in project organization during the execution stage as a Project Manager or Application Engineer, depending on project size and complexity.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive and in-depth understanding of customer's Mission Critical Infrastructure, Cooling (including chillers), and associated needs and issues of customers operating in a multi-location environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in technical and non-technical environments.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate effective time management skills.
  • Excellent business ethics and integrity.
  • Flexibility in operational style to meet the requirements of a multi-culture position.
  • Native Japanese and conversational English skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use and possess basic skills in Visio and/or AutoCad and web-based applications.
  • Proven skills in Mission Critical Infrastructure Best Practice Solution, including services and developing value propositions.
  • Knowledge of local installation standards and authorities' requirements.
  • Certification of 1st Class Construction Managing Engineers in Japan (Electrical).

Experience Level

  • 7-10 years Electrical related engineering experience in Mission Critical Infrastructure with both hands-on and supervisory level.

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Electrical/Mechanical Engineering an advantage)
  • Certification and some technical training covering Generator Systems, MV & LV Systems, Large UPS Systems, Chiller Systems, Fire Protection Systems etc would be an added advantage.
