About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Appellate Attorney to manage sophisticated, high-impact cases and shape the firm’s appellate strategy on behalf of national financial institutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of appellate procedure, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to handle complex legal issues independently while contributing to a collegial and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex appellate and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
  • Draft, edit, and finalize appellate briefs, motions, pleadings, and memoranda of law
  • Research, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and case law
  • Develop strategic legal arguments and provide insight and recommendations to clients and colleagues
  • Handle appellate calendars, manage critical deadlines, and ensure timely filings
  • Represent clients before New York trial and appellate courts in oral arguments, hearings, and related proceedings
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain consistency in litigation strategy and client representation
  • Contribute to the firm’s culture of continuous learning, mentorship, and professional growth

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in New York (in good standing)
  • Minimum 3+ years of litigation experience, including appellate or motion practice
  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil and appellate procedure
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and strict deadlines
