About the Role

Albany Technical College seeks a part-time Legal Studies Instructor to teach Legal Studies courses at the diploma and associate degree level. The role involves providing effective instruction, evaluating student progress, maintaining instructional documentation, and fostering a secure learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Legal Studies courses at the diploma and associate degree level.
  • Provide effective instruction.
  • Evaluate students’ progress toward course goals and learning outcomes.
  • Prepare and maintain required instructional documentation and administrative reports.
  • Maintain an appropriate and secure learning environment.
  • Collaborate with program faculty on curriculum and instructional matters.
  • Contribute to the success of the program, college, and its students.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.), Doctor of the Science of Law (J.S.D.), Doctor of Judicial Science (S.J.D.), or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of verified professional experience in the legal field (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of teaching experience (preferred).
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of online instructional delivery.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems used in postsecondary education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must upload a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts.
  • All male applicants between 18-26 must present proof of Selective Service Registration.
  • Requires a pre-employment criminal background investigation, education, and employer/professional reference checks.
  • Some positions may require a motor vehicle record search, credit history check, fingerprinting, and/or drug screen.
