About the Role

The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking candidates to fill the position of Manager, Child Support Services within the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS). This role reports to the Regional Manager and is located in Albany, Georgia. The position is responsible for establishing and enforcing child support obligations, coordinating child support activities, and managing the operations of a child support branch office.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the development and administration of a child support branch office, including establishing and enforcing support orders, and investigative, compliance, legal, and clerical support activities.
  • Helps determine the division's overall direction as a member of the division's management team.
  • Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.
  • Plans, administers, and maintains the operation of child support services programs.
  • Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure identified outcome measures are achieved.
  • Assures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Builds and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within unit(s) and with other agencies and providers.
  • Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges social services employees.
  • Manages human resources and directs administrative activities.
  • Reviews new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local, and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of subordinate supervisory experience in a human service delivery program or related program.
  • Two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Child Support Services Supervisor (SST064) or position equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of experience at the lower-level Child Support Services Agent 3 (SST062).
  • Three (3) years of experience at the lower-level Child Support Services Agent 4 (SST063).
