About the Role
The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking candidates to fill the position of Administrative Support 2 within the Division of Child Support Services (DCSS). This role is crucial for strengthening Georgia by providing individuals and families access to services that promote self-sufficiency and independence.
Responsibilities
- Performs general office management, secretarial, and bookkeeping duties.
- Manages correspondence, including reports, documents, memos, forms, and presentations.
- Handles telephone inquiries and duplicates documents.
- Completes data entry assignments.
- Uses Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard office applications for daily tasks.
- Manages incoming and outgoing mail and telephone communications.
- Orders office supplies and equipment.
- Ensures general maintenance and repair of office equipment.
- Assists supervisor with budget data maintenance.
- Maintains files of required reports and records.
- Organizes professional learning opportunities for staff, including registration, duty leave, travel arrangements, and expense reports.
- Maintains time and attendance records for staff.
- Registers and transfers cases.
- Maintains confidential records.
- Engages in specialized activities relative to the office, program, divisions, or agency.
- Facilitates day-to-day office operations when the supervisor is off-site.
- Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- One (1) year of work experience involving customer service in an office environment.
- Work experience using Microsoft Office Suite, and/or standard software applications in an office environment.
- High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of general office or administrative experience.
