About the Role

Cohere is seeking a People Operations Manager to oversee People data, reporting, and operational tasks. This role is crucial for providing accurate and timely data to leadership, defining key metrics, and managing benefits administration and employee records. You will play a key role in shaping data structure during a Rippling implementation, offering a greenfield opportunity with significant influence.

Responsibilities

  • Own headcount, attrition, and people cost reporting end to end.
  • Build executive and board-level reporting.
  • Define metrics and their meaning.
  • Reconcile People and Finance headcount data.
  • Clean up reporting taxonomies, starting with termination reasons.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Implement checks to prevent bad data entry.
  • Own the employee data model, definitions, and governance.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS team to ensure the system supports reporting needs.
  • Challenge current systems to align with data vision.
  • Manage US and global benefits administration, renewals, and open enrollment.
  • Oversee employee records, employment verification, and data requests.
  • Support the front-line team with day-to-day employee questions.
  • Automate recurring reporting to make it self-serve.
  • Provide managers and leaders with access to their own data.
  • Reduce the volume of manual reporting requests.
  • Produce reporting that withstands audit and external diligence.
  • Work with Finance and IT on data controls and evidence.
  • Design systems for future company growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of people analytics and reporting experience in fast-paced, scaling environments.
  • Significant experience delivering people operations solutions across the talent journey.
  • Experience with HRIS implementation or migration.
  • Experience building reports from scratch.
  • Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues, maintaining high standards for clean, reliable analytics data.
  • Effectively communicate data insights by explaining numerical findings, their source methodology, and rationale for discrepancies with alternative interpretations.
  • Write clearly and document by default.
  • Experience running operations across multiple countries and entities, including EOR or contractor populations.
  • Comfortable across the entire employee journey, from hire to exit.
  • Ability to quickly learn new tools and become a subject matter expert.
  • Enjoy building elegant solutions to complex operational problems.
