About the Role
Flexport is seeking a Staff Product Manager to define and drive strategy across a product domain. This role involves owning the vision for how multiple product surfaces interact to serve clients and operators in global logistics, with a high degree of autonomy. The products shaped will be used by logistics managers, supply chain leaders, freight operators, and internal teams, requiring collaboration across multiple engineering teams and other PMs to achieve cohesive outcomes. The role also includes mentoring other PMs and improving product development processes.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive product strategy across the Visibility domain that spans multiple teams, user types, or workflow stages
- Own the end-to-end mapping, tracking, and visibility of physical goods across the entire shipment lifecycle
- Drive end-to-end data intelligence to solve complex operational problems and define next-generation client-facing visibility experiences
- Partner across execution, planning, and technology teams to align priorities and ship integrated systems across surfaces
- Collaborate across a global footprint (Hong Kong, Europe, US) with China engineering teams, participating in regular cross-border syncs
- Use data to set direction, not just measure results, building metrics frameworks that connect product usage to business outcomes
- Break down ambiguous, cross-cutting problems into concrete product plans that multiple teams can execute against
- Represent your domain in leadership forums, influencing resource allocation and strategic direction
- Mentor PMs on the team: improving how we write specs, prioritize, communicate trade-offs, and ship
Requirements
- 8+ years of product management experience
- Background solving complex logistics, physical operational, or system root-cause problems using algorithmic planning, data analysis, and structured logic
- Demonstrated ability to own a product domain and lead product roadmaps spanning 2 to 3 years across multiple engineering teams
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; build metrics frameworks, write queries, and use data to settle debates
- SQL proficiency required
- A track record of shipping products in data-dense, physical, or multi-sided domains where user workflows span multiple systems and operational teams
- Experience aligning multiple cross-functional teams (engineering, design, operations, commercial) around a shared roadmap when priorities compete
- Proven ability to operate at the strategy level and the execution level in the same week
- Excellent written and verbal communication, especially the ability to frame trade-offs, present recommendations to senior leadership, and create clarity in ambiguous situations
- Experience mentoring or leading other PMs, formally or informally
- Experience with B2B workflow software, supply chain platforms, or logistics technology is a plus
