About the Role

Assist with the technical functions of dispensing prescriptions, support pharmacy services, and maintain pharmacy operations while providing superior customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and gather prescription information.
• Perform duties according to the Role Assignment Schedule.
• Refer all clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Set realistic customer expectations for wait times.
• Process prescription and ancillary item sales.
• Refer customers requiring counseling to the Pharmacist.
• Maintain and control the cash register in the dispensary.
• Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy requirements.
• Receive new and repeat prescription orders.
• Prepare and submit prescription orders (excluding controlled drugs and narcotics).
• Adjudicate third-party billing and manage manual Third-Party Accounts.
• Answer telephone calls and refer to a pharmacist when necessary.
• Manage incoming faxes.
• Assist the pharmacist in coordinating callbacks.
• File completed documentation accurately.
• Assist in prescription preparation to company standards.
• Perform data entry for new prescriptions and manage refill requests.
• Select medications to fill prescriptions.
• Count, measure, package, and label prescriptions.
• Accurately enter and maintain data within pharmacy systems.

Requirements

• Must have two years of using Health Watch system.
• High School Diploma.
• Previous Pharmacy Experience preferred.
