About the Role
Penguin Young Readers seeks a Publishing Assistant to support brand and business development efforts, including sales analysis, metadata, licensing, and administrative tasks. This role offers exposure to marketing, publicity, and sales teams, providing a learning opportunity within the publishing industry.
Responsibilities
- Run regular sales and competitive reports and share with sales, marketing, and editorial teams.
- Provide administrative support to the publishing office and brand department, including meeting setup and support for the executive assistant.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations and Excel grids for business reviews, conferences, and divisional meetings.
- Offer routine support in licensing, brand management, and title metadata.
- Support divisional special projects and research requests, such as editorial directory updates or industry trend analysis.
- Process physical product samples from licensing partners.
- Assist with internal events like author visits and guest speakers.
Requirements
- Interest in the business side of publishing and analysis.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
