About the Role

Penguin Young Readers seeks a Publishing Assistant to support brand and business development efforts, including sales analysis, metadata, licensing, and administrative tasks. This role offers exposure to marketing, publicity, and sales teams, providing a learning opportunity within the publishing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Run regular sales and competitive reports and share with sales, marketing, and editorial teams.
  • Provide administrative support to the publishing office and brand department, including meeting setup and support for the executive assistant.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations and Excel grids for business reviews, conferences, and divisional meetings.
  • Offer routine support in licensing, brand management, and title metadata.
  • Support divisional special projects and research requests, such as editorial directory updates or industry trend analysis.
  • Process physical product samples from licensing partners.
  • Assist with internal events like author visits and guest speakers.

Requirements

  • Interest in the business side of publishing and analysis.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
