About the Role
The iPhone Hardware Engineering team is seeking a hardworking and passionate electrical engineer for the position of Hardware Engineer - System Technologies. This position is a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional lead engineering role encompassing different aspects of power conversion system designs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with and provide architectural guidance to cross-functional engineering teams in defining and establishing system power architecture requirements for new products.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience
- BS/MS in relevant fields
- Strong EE fundamentals and problem-solving skills
- Experience in power electronics related design and development, including DC-DC converters and LDOs
- Knowledge of power, analog and integrated circuit design fundamentals, process development, and analytical methodology for high-quality designs
- Experience in architecture design of complex power conversion systems or power management ICs
- Strong laboratory board-level testing, debugging and validation experience with lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and signal generators
- Ability to employ scientific and systematic methods to troubleshoot and drive resolutions of multi-disciplinary system issues
- Experience in layout planning and routing strategies
- Ability to relate electrical performance to physical layout and system level solutions, including passive components and controls
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration
- 7+ years of experience
- PhD in relevant fields
- Experience in taking projects from the conceptual phase through product ramp-up and mass production
- Knowledge and work experience of various integrated circuit process technologies, design flows, reliability, and other related topics
- Experience performing or guiding complex power distribution networks (PDN) design for sophisticated power conversion systems
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in circuit and EM simulation tools, such as Cadence/Sigrity, ADS/Spice/Spectre, Ansys HFSS/Maxwell/SIWave, and CST
