About the Role
Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, performance tuning and recovery of our IT Security infrastructure, posture and supporting infrastructure. Serve as a hands-on technical expert, Sr. Architect and mentor in IT Security.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and manage the performance of a team of IT Security professionals responsible for monitoring, detecting and responding to threats.
- Analyze and investigate security alerts, determine the scope and impact of security events, and articulate risks, root causes, and mitigation strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform hands-on configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of security systems, which may include firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
- Lead security architecture initiatives for network security, data protection, identity and access management, and cloud computing.
- Maintain alignment with architecture and compliance frameworks, including CIS, CCPA, HIPAA, and NYDFS.
- Develop, document, implement and report on security architecture policies, standards, and best practices.
- Keep up to date with cybersecurity landscape, emerging threats, evaluating and recommending new technologies.
- Document and communicate security architecture decisions and strategies effectively.
- Drive deployment of new platforms, technologies and features to meet lifecycle management and business requirements.
- Act as a technical expert and mentor to engineering teams on frameworks, tools and technologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and secure software development lifecycle.
- 5+ years of experience leading a team of cybersecurity professionals.
- 5+ years of experience supporting implementations in a hybrid cloud environment.
- 5+ years of experience in either Systems (Windows or Linux) or Network engineering including design and management.
- 5+ years of experience with network security products including Firewalls, WAF, Proxy, NAC, VPNs and end user device security.
- 5+ years of experience with network security in a public cloud environment.
- 5+ years of experience with network hardware.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA and GSEC are a plus.
Skills
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft and/or Linux operating systems including but not limited to deployment, integrations and troubleshooting.
- Networking and/or security centric.
- Cloud technology.
- Juniper.
- Cisco.
