Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and direction to parts department operations.
  • Liaise between terminal leadership and Parts Assistants.
  • Provide support and guidance to other Parts Assistants.
  • Assist terminal leadership in identifying areas for improvement and provide on-the-job training.
  • Issue purchase orders and purchase parts at the best possible price and value.
  • Negotiate parts and material prices with vendors.
  • Stock, issue, process, and input data related to POs and invoices.
  • Ensure repair orders are complete and accurate.
  • Maintain maintenance shop records, tire count, and department statistics.
  • Maintain files for invoices and contracts.
  • Handle department shipping and receiving.
  • Handle OS&D delivered to outside terminal locations.
  • Maintain warranty parts, manage shipping and scrap.
  • Maintain proper core storage and returns.
  • Manage part returns and obsolete parts.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years' experience in parts or inventory control required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Must be familiar with completing purchase orders and/or repair orders.
  • Must be familiar with looking up parts and placing on-line orders using appropriate OEM websites.
  • Must possess excellent 10 key and computer keyboarding skills.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
