About the Role
Sumitomo Pharma America (SMPA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Territory Sales Manager – Specialty to be the face of the company to customers, driving sales objectives and market share growth within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed sales objectives and grow market share.
- Manage the assigned territory.
- Establish deep and meaningful business relationships based on clinical and market dynamic expertise.
- Increase market share by closing new business in new and existing accounts.
- Support sales results with clinical expertise, market understanding, planning, and resource utilization.
- Assess and analyze product/competitor trends and market dynamics.
- Collaborate and communicate constructively with team members.
- Travel throughout the territory, including overnight stays and potential weekend work.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success applying clinical expertise (product/competition/disease state), understanding of the healthcare landscape, and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated success analyzing trends and market dynamics to provide sales strategy recommendations.
- Demonstrated history of a strong work ethic and professional presence.
- Ability to ensure administrative tasks are completed in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
- Ability to consistently operate with trust and integrity.
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Ability to comply with customer institution access requirements.
- Ability to drive a car and possess a valid and current driver’s license.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight as needed (~20%).
- Extensive travel: Regular travel throughout assigned territory—estimated 60–80% of working time.
- Mobility & stamina: Frequent in-person visits requiring sustained driving, walking, standing, and sitting.
- Independent, field-based work: Ability to manage one’s schedule and work autonomously.
- Handling materials and samples: Ability to lift 20 pounds.
- Achieve and maintain Compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal and operational rules and procedures.
- Submit to a pre-employment drug test.

Salary/Compensations
- $113,600.00 - $142,000.00
