About the Role

WP Engine is seeking a hands-on, data-driven Sales Development Manager to lead its North America SDR team, focusing on evolving the sales motion to create qualified opportunities, pipeline, and revenue. This is a builder and coaching role with significant influence across the go-to-market organization, aimed at developing talent and driving predictable growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead team performance and development, translating revenue goals into clear priorities and expectations.
  • Coach SDRs through 1:1s, call reviews, role plays, and real-time feedback to improve performance.
  • Build outbound capability through account prioritization, research, personalized messaging, and multi-channel prospecting.
  • Maintain well-developed inbound execution across lead response, qualification, follow-up, and seller handoff.
  • Monitor funnel performance from lead response through meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline, and bookings.
  • Use performance data to identify opportunities, address gaps, and improve team results.
  • Partner with Account Executives and sales leaders on account strategy, meeting quality, and pipeline creation.
  • Work with Marketing, Revenue Operations, Enablement, and other GTM teams to improve lead quality, messaging, systems, and rep readiness.
  • Leverage Salesforce, Qualified, Gong Engage, Clay, LinkedIn, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and execution.
  • Test and refine prospecting strategies, messaging, channels, and coaching approaches based on results.
  • Hire, onboard, and develop SDR talent while addressing performance gaps and supporting career growth.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales or sales development experience, including 2+ years leading SDRs in a SaaS or technology environment.
  • Experience leading or building an outbound motion while maintaining well-developed inbound performance.
  • A coaching-first leadership style with experience using call reviews, role plays, 1:1s, and development plans to improve performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using Salesforce and funnel data to drive decisions.
  • Experience with Salesforce and a sales engagement platform; familiarity with Gong Engage, Clay, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, conversation intelligence, automation, or AI-assisted workflows is a plus.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and the ability to work effectively with frontline teams and GTM leaders.
  • A track record of hiring, developing, and retaining early-career talent with a thoughtful, accountable, and hands-on leadership style.
