About the Role
HELP USA is seeking a Recreation Aide to work with adults living in one of our temporary housing facilities. The role involves developing and implementing recreational programs to foster socialization, empowerment, and well-being for all participants.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement recreational programs appropriate for all age groups, fostering positive socialization, empowerment, and physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
- Ensure recreational services are available for residents with special needs, either through existing programs or service linkages.
- Encourage full resident participation to enhance socialization and maximize utilization of recreational services.
- Engage in community outreach to secure service linkages, in-kind donations, and other resources.
- Develop a resource guide of free and inexpensive local recreational activities.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all participants in recreational activities.
- Develop a budget for the recreation department, including operational needs, new requirements, and wish lists.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and skills.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be creative, responsible, patient, kind, and caring.
