About the Role

As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you'll be a leader and an ambassador for Kido's values, contributing to a vibrant culture. This role offers a chance to build a remarkable career in a fast-growing international company that champions career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead nursery operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day running and high standards of care, education, and compliance.
  • Manage and develop staff through supervision, appraisals, coaching, training, induction, and professional development.
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), overseeing safeguarding practices, referrals, staff training, and child protection.
  • Maintain health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, fire drills, medication administration, security, and adherence to regulations.
  • Build strong relationships with families, partnering with parents to support children's needs and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure EYFS and Ofsted compliance by implementing policies, maintaining records, monitoring quality, and leading inspection readiness.
  • Drive high-quality teaching and learning by supporting curriculum delivery, monitoring observations and learning journeys, and promoting best practices.
  • Oversee staffing and resource management, ensuring appropriate ratios, effective delegation, accurate record-keeping, and efficient resource use.
  • Support nursery growth and occupancy through parent tours, events, collaboration with admissions teams, and maintaining excellent parent experiences.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive culture by leading by example, encouraging teamwork, championing equality and diversity, and supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant childcare qualification, Level 3 minimum.
  • Have experience working within management in Early Years.
  • Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English including functional skills are required if a Level 3 qualification was obtained after 2014.

Salary/Compensations

  • £33,000 - £39,000 / year
  • Discretionary bonus
