About the Role

We’re looking for a payroll and benefits subject matter resource to join our team as Senior Payroll & Benefits Analyst. In this role, you will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions while supporting benefits-related payroll administration and cross-functional coordination. You will lead complex U.S. and Canadian payroll activities, support global payroll and expatriate requirements, reconcile payroll-related financials, and contribute to system enhancements. You will also serve as a key resource for audits, compliance, operational improvement, and employee payroll inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end processing of bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local requirements.
  • Validate payroll inputs, deductions, earnings, bonuses, commissions, retroactive adjustments, taxable benefits, and other special payments.
  • Review, audit, and reconcile payroll results before final submission in accordance with internal controls and SOX requirements.
  • Support global payroll delivery for international locations through coordination with third-party payroll providers.
  • Assist with expatriate payroll requirements, including shadow payroll, tax withholding adjustments, and coordination with mobility program stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of U.S. FLSA and IRS requirements, state/provincial employment standards, CRA requirements, statutory remittances, and year-end reporting obligations.
  • Validate benefit-related payroll inputs, including employee and employer deductions, taxable benefits, imputed income, retroactive adjustments, arrears, refunds, and special payments.
  • Partner with Benefits, HRIS, Finance, and external vendors to resolve payroll-impacting benefit issues and support open enrollment, life events, rate changes, carrier file changes, and deduction configuration testing.
  • Partner with HR Technology and People Services to support payroll system updates, testing, and configuration changes.
  • Perform complex payroll reconciliations, including general ledger review, payroll funding, and benefits and tax remittance validation.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of progressive payroll administration experience with strong expertise in U.S. and Canadian payroll.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, including FLSA, IRS regulations, provincial employment standards, CRA rules, wage garnishments, taxable benefits, and statutory reporting.
  • Proven experience preparing payroll reports, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced payroll and benefits administration knowledge across U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions, with awareness of global payroll practices and expatriate payroll requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to perform complex reconciliations, identify root causes, and resolve discrepancies accurately.
  • Applicants will be required to undergo a background check only if and after a conditional offer of employment has been extended.
