About the Role
Assistant Managers at Madison Reed’s Hair Color Bars are business leaders who deliver exceptional results while inspiring the team to provide quality guest services and an amazing guest experience. This role supports the roadmap of success for their Hair Color Bar, driving operational excellence and adherence to guidelines, while leading the team to cultivate diverse perspectives, build positive community ties to achieve business goals, and promote Madison Reed's products, services, and values. The mission is threefold: guest satisfaction, business management, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and develop leadership skills to provide a top tier employee and guest experience aligned with our values.
- Perform and sell products and services, including consultations, color applications, shampoo and blowout services, and retail product recommendations.
- Support localized marketing initiatives to build strong community relationships, promote the Madison Reed brand, and drive foot traffic.
- Lead by example through exhibiting sales and service behaviors in all interactions and communication with guests, including resolving guest service issues.
- Support all aspects of the business including staffing, front of house operations, color and finishing services, and back of house support to ensure adherence to all company standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrate mastery of all services provided at our Madison Reed Hair Color Bars.
- Step in as the acting Manager on Duty during the General Manager's absence, offering critical management support.
- Provide in-the-moment team guidance, remote assistance, and occasional on-site support at nearby locations, under the direction of the District Manager.
- Support the location through achieving monthly sales goals and other key performance indicators.
- Partner with the General Manager to ensure the Hair Color Bar consistently meets company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, and inventory.
- Develop mastery of all Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
- Coach team members to ensure the highest level of team culture, guest satisfaction, and Hair Color Bar performance.
- Manage employee schedules based on forecasts and business needs and in compliance with local labor laws, budgets and breaks and meals.
- Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, coaching, talent development and training of all team members.
Requirements
- Licensed Cosmetologist in the state in which you are applying.
- Master Colorist with advanced color theory knowledge and application skills.
- 2+ years of salon and retail experience.
- 1+ years supervising other team members and supporting inventory, training, labor management and achieving key operational and performance metrics.
- Flexibility to relocate to other locations as business needs evolve.
- Proficient in proactive problem solving & troubleshooting.
- Able to prioritize with a high attention to detail, identifying critical and less critical activities and tasks.
- Experienced using current technology in a salon or retail environment.
- Fluent in English.
- Regularly stand/walk for four plus consecutive hours.
- Repetitive and regular bending and twisting at the waist.
- Manipulating fingers and hands, bend and reach wrists and arms, reach with hands and arms or move up to ten pounds.
- May occasionally sit, kneel, stoop, crouch, and lift, push, pull up to ten pounds.
