About the Role
As a Shift Supervisor at Elmcor, you serve as the program’s lead on the ground, guiding staff, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the residence runs safely and effectively. In this role, you play a critical part in monitoring performance, supporting your team, and responding to the needs of residents and the overall shelter environment in real time. You help maintain a structured, responsive, and compassionate space where both residents and staff feel supported, accountable, and empowered.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shelter operations, including staff coordination, shift coverage, and ensuring all activities and schedules run smoothly
- Supervise, coach, and support staff while maintaining effective communication with residents, team members, and leadership
- Monitor facility safety through rounds, enforce policies, respond to incidents, and utilize crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation, including incident and coverage reports, while ensuring confidentiality and professional standards are upheld
Requirements
- BA/BS degree and/or equivalent experience, or AA degree and 2 years’ experience
- HS Diploma or GED and 3 years applicable experience
- Obtain F-80 certification within first 90 days of employment

Experience Level
- 2 years’ experience with AA degree
