About the Role

Perform loading/unloading of trucks, store shipments, and pick orders from warehouse inventory.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
• Pick and move items weighing from 1 lb to 50 lbs or more.
• Ensure all documentation is properly completed.
• Coordinate with dispatch and sales to resolve discrepancies.
• Properly store all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
• Ensure all shipments are properly marked before storing or picking.
• Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
• Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and equipment flow.
• Coordinate paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations.
• Perform general maintenance of the warehouse area.
• Ensure trailers are swept clean of debris when empty.
• Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
• Process outbound freight and cross-dock freight as necessary.
• Operate Stand-up Reach Forklifts, Cherry Pickers, and sit-down forklifts.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Build pallets and break down stock.
• Work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Must know how to operate a Forklift, Cherry Picker, and Stand-up Reach Forklift.
• Good communication, problem resolution, and people skills.
• Ability to maintain orderly operation of the warehouse.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
• Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
• Ability to work in an indoor/office environment and use repetitive hand motion.
• Ability to talk, hear, stand, and walk frequently.
• Ability to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.
• Possess good cognitive skills.
• Maintain work accuracy.
• Ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
• Ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
• Ability to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
• Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician.
• No evidence of the use of controlled substances.
