About the Role
The KPMG Alternatives team provides high-quality tax advisory and compliance services to the Alternative Investment Fund sector, including private equity, hedge funds, and credit funds. This role focuses on PE/Hedgefund tax, ideal for a driven candidate with relevant experience or a strong interest in developing this specialization.
Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of tax advice on UK and international tax matters for PE/Hedgefund, including UK corporation tax and partnership tax.
- Review work prepared by team members and conduct detailed technical research.
- Own the corporation tax and partnership tax process end-to-end.
- Manage, coach, and support team members on technical and people matters.
- Run client meetings and calls.
- Interact with HMRC via telephone and letter.
- Maintain a client portfolio, build trusted relationships, and ensure tax advisory and compliance needs are met.
- Pro-actively inform clients of relevant tax developments.
- Collaborate with the UK Alternatives team and global KPMG offices.
- Adapt style and approach to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Drive business development initiatives for the team.
Requirements
- Qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA or ACA), Chartered Tax Advisor, or solicitor (or international equivalent).
- Career drive to develop a specialism in Real Estate taxation.
- Positive approach to personal development and motivation for progression.
- Track record of managing the delivery of high-quality corporate tax advisory and compliance services.
- Experience in the Real Estate or Alternative Investment Funds sector is preferred.
- Ability to take day-to-day leadership of delivery teams.
- Support teams in managing competing deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, including under pressure.
- Strong UK corporation tax knowledge.
- Ability to communicate complex rules and ideas simply, verbally and in writing.
- Deliver written work to a consistently high standard with strong attention to detail.
