About the Role
The Non-Secure Detention Clinician is responsible for providing clinical treatment and assessments to children and families consistent with agency mission, vision and values.
Responsibilities
- Develop an initial Individual Crisis Support Plan (ICSP) with the resident within 24 hours of admission, excluding weekends and holidays.
- Review and update the ICSP at a minimum every thirty (30) days.
- Complete an assessment of residents within 72-hours of admission to the Non-Secure Detention (NSD) facility.
- Develop and implement an individualized treatment plan for each resident within five (5) days, excluding weekends and holidays, of admission to the NSD facility.
- Complete required documentation and assessments within 15 days of admission and communicate reports to internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with the NSD team to support residents.
- Interface with internal and external programs/stakeholders including but not limited to county caseworkers, probation/court officers, for treatment planning purposes.
- Meet with each resident once a week for 1:1 counseling addressing objectives in the resident’s treatment plan.
- Co-facilitate two social and emotional skills groups a week.
- Ensure all clinical services are delivered in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with program members to develop a discharge plan for each resident, identifying available community resources.
- Complete, maintain, and track all mandatory documentation in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide telehealth services to residents within the NSD program.
- Provide as-needed in-service training to staff regarding a basic understanding of primary mental health disorders and provide resources to assist direct staff.
- Represent the agency professionally and attend internal and external meetings, clinical supervision, and team meetings, preparing required documentation.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field that qualifies for Licensure or Limited Permit eligibility is required.
- LCSW strongly preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health, child welfare, or a residential setting working with at-risk youth is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required with acceptable driving history to the Agency.
- Limited travel may be necessary, including visits to other agency facilities.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TCI and First Aid/CPR certification.
- Ability to work effectively with economically and culturally diverse populations.
- Capacity to engage with individuals experiencing emotional and psychological challenges.
