About the Role
This position handles GNY’s most complex or severe property claims by investigating losses, managing independent adjusters and experts, interpreting policy for coverage determinations, addressing reserves, writing coverage letters and reports, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assure timely reserving and handling of claims from assignment to completion by investigating and interpreting coverage.
- Manage independent adjusters and experts.
- Write coverage letters, including disclaimers and Reservation of Rights letters.
- Prepare large loss reports for senior management.
- Provide good customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ensure data integrity through proper coding and system functions.
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
- Availability to work extended hours in a CAT situation.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of first-party property claims handling experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with Image Right is a plus.
