About the Role
The Business Office Manager maintains complete and systematic records of financial transactions and performs a variety of other business office duties. This role provides support to employees relating to onboarding, orientation, and employee benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manage, oversee, and complete the billing process consistent with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Manage and oversee business office functions including records, accounting, billing, and accounts receivable, inventory, and supply management.
- Direct billing functions, including accurate invoicing of all client representatives in compliance with company standards.
- Ensure all bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor services provided to ensure they are reimbursable.
- Consult with department heads to resolve errors in accounts.
- Reconcile accounts and provide financial reports to the Administrator upon request.
- Track census and census summary reports, and obtain the 24-hour nursing report from the charge nurse.
- Interact with the public, visitors, families, and residents.
- Receive and receipt payments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Record details of transactions on individual journals and ledgers.
- Summarize and balance entries recorded on individual journals and ledgers.
- Receipt, post, and maintain accurate individual resident trust ledgers to meet Federal and State regulations.
- Reconcile to bank statements.
- Maximize office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications.
- Formulate procedures for systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of personnel and resident financial records.
- Understand and adhere to the guidelines of ‘Resident Rights.’
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- In locations without an HR Director, act as the point of contact for all HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and employee relations.
Requirements
- Must have 3 plus years of business office experience.
- Must have working knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting principles, preferably in a healthcare setting to include Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing.
