About the Role

The Macro Group is hiring for an Associate position on the Corporate Rates & FX Sales Team. The role is focused on the marketing and execution of Rates products, specifically in support of the risk management needs of Wells Fargo's corporate client base. The position is directly client-facing.

Responsibilities

  • Generate ideas and prepare marketing materials to support client engagement and business development efforts
  • Provide market commentary, trade structuring expertise, and pricing solutions tailored to client needs
  • Manage the client onboarding process and coordinate required internal approvals and documentation
  • Collaborate with documentation and settlements teams to ensure timely execution and processing of transactions
  • Partner closely with counterparts across Markets, including Trading and CVA, as well as other CIB partners, including Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Debt Capital Markets, and Leveraged Finance
  • Work seamlessly across the platform to identify opportunities and drive execution
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and strategic partnership
  • Promote a strong risk management, regulatory, and compliance-focused culture in all business activities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Ability to travel up to 10% or as needed
  • Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.
  • FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and 63 (or 66) examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire.
  • Registration for FINRA Series 65 or 66 must be completed prior to conducting Investment Advisory business.
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory.
  • Specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply.
  • Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards.
  • Successful completion of the National Futures Association (NFA) Swaps Proficiency Requirements within 30 days of hire, unless previously completed and current.
  • This position is subject to Dodd-Frank Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background screen.
  • Applicants are subject to a new screen to comply with Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act which states that Associated Persons (AP) cannot be subject to statutory disqualification.
  • Under industry regulations, an AP is defined as a team member who solicits or accepts client orders for swaps.
  • Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired.

Skills

  • Technical understanding of basic Rates products, including Swaps, Swaptions, and Cross-Currency Swaps
  • Willingness to expand knowledge to additional risk management products
  • Strong interest in global macro markets and market developments
  • Familiarity with credit risk concepts, including CVA, DVA, and FVA
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with AI tools, including generative AI and data analytics solutions, and an interest in applying them to sales workflows and market research
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and perform effectively under pressure
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and achieving team goals
