About the Role

The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is seeking a Contract Part-time Server to join their Food & Beverage Department. This role is responsible for ensuring exceptional dining experiences for members and guests by attending to their needs. The contract is set to end on December 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare dining rooms and private rooms tables with special attention to sanitation and order
  • Attend to members upon entrance, present menus and help members to select food/beverage, suggesting courses, explain the chef’s specialties, identify appropriate wine, respond to food preparation and other questions
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, specials, and menu changes
  • Transmit orders to the bar and kitchen by recording member’s orders and identifying members special dietary needs, restrictions, and special requests
  • Serve and deliver orders, accompaniments, and condiments from bar and kitchen
  • Respond to additional member requirements by inquiring and observing dining process
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to other special needs
  • Promptly address members service issues and refer members to management when necessary
  • Polish and prepare cutlery, and replenish stock of supplies, notifying supervisors of out-of-stock items
  • Maintain cleanliness in the dining areas, including taking out garbage, sweeping floors, and cleaning freezers, fridges, and other equipment as required
  • Train new staff as required
  • Assist facilities team with seasonal patio set-up
  • Provide service in the staff lunchroom as required
  • Work in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club
  • Conduct self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and respect in the workplace

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent
  • Mandatory availability on Friday-Sunday and have open availability, including weeknights, weekends, and statutory holidays

Skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and member service skills
  • Advanced knowledge of POS systems
  • Work level knowledge of office equipment
  • Proven ability of conflict resolution
