About the Role

The Manager, Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth for CRF Digital by developing and managing a sales pipeline across advertising, sponsorship, and other digital products and services. This role builds and maintains relationships with prospective and existing clients, partners closely with internal stakeholders, and supports the full sales cycle. The role supports sustainable financial growth by identifying new opportunities, creating value-driven solutions for clients, and ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of business development activity and results.

Responsibilities

  • Drive new business revenue by selling CRF Digital offerings, including advertising, sponsorship opportunities, digital satellite programs, educational grants, services, multimedia products, and other web services.
  • Participate in targeted sales initiatives using professional presentations, face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and email communications.
  • Cultivate relationships with prospective clients and expand upon relationships with current clients.
  • Develop and maintain an active business development pipeline, including prospecting, lead qualification, opportunity stages, and next steps.
  • Track, forecast, and report sales activity and results using agreed-upon metrics and tools.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes, and sales presentations; respond to RFPs/RFIs when applicable; and coordinate with internal teams to confirm inventory, timelines, deliverables, and pricing.
  • Support client retention and revenue expansion by managing renewals, identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities, and ensuring sponsor/client satisfaction with delivered programs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client communications, proposals, contracts, and opportunity status in the CRM and related tracking systems.
  • Prepare agreements and related documentation in partnership with the Associate Director and Legal team, when applicable.
  • Coordinate invoice requests and payment schedules with the Finance department, including providing required documentation and billing details.
  • Assist the Finance department with accounts receivable activities, as needed, and support audit requests related to contracted programs.
  • Assist in market research to identify new companies and revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Maintain the project management system for the business pipeline.
  • Provide the highest level of customer care and support to clients.
  • Attend CRF-sponsored and other related conferences where applicable.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in academic education, conference/event, healthcare/medical, or digital media/advertising environments.
  • Market knowledge of the medical device and pharmaceutical industries that exhibit at interventional cardiology meetings or the willingness to learn.
  • Experience with contract review, analysis, and negotiation.
  • Experience building and managing a sales pipeline, including forecasting, opportunity tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong proposal writing, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate value to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM software (i.e. Salesforce, Monday.com)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, patience, professionalism, and ability to effectively interact with clients, prospective clients, staff, and management alike.
  • Strong focus on flexibility, ability to multitask, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, good follow-up, and judgment. Must be able to prioritize.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with CRF staff, physicians, senior managers and their assistants, vendors, industry professionals, and event attendees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively when writing e-mail, reports, and presentations.
  • Ability to read and interpret vendor contracts, CRF policies, and memos.
  • Ability to have a big picture perspective and understand implications.
