About the Role

7NEWS, a dominant source of news for the Watertown market, is looking for a motivated journalist who wants to report news, not just make content. This position would also allow for on-air anchoring opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop story ideas from community sources
  • Shoot, edit, write news packages for newscasts
  • Meet deadlines
  • Dress professionally
  • Represent our station professionally
  • Anchor newscasts when needed
  • Work productively within a newsroom setting
  • Have good social skills to make phone calls and handle interviews respectfully and professionally
  • Learn newsroom editing software (EDIUS) and producing platform (ENPS) (willing to train)

  • Degree in communication/journalism / similar
  • Ability to carry news-gathering gear like camera, tripod, mic bag
