About the Role
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Patient Service Specialist (PSS) for their Lakeway, TX location. This entry-level position offers a dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients
- Answer phones
- Perform patient intake and data entry
- Conduct insurance verification and pre-authorization
- Schedule patient appointments
- Operate the front office of outpatient centers
- Support therapists and therapy assistants
- Perform daily cash balancing and weekly banking deposits
- Process referrals
- Complete the intake process
- Verify insurance and obtain authorizations
- Review benefits with patients
- Collect copays
- Arrive and schedule patients
- Generate billing reports
- Generate closing reports
- Perform other tasks as needed
- Travel to other locations as needed
- Provide outstanding customer service
- Work independently or as part of a team
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Customer service experience preferred
- Knowledge of insurance verification preferred
- Experience in healthcare, medical, or dental office administration preferred
- Must be organized, adaptable, and able to work well with others or independently
